Twitter Archive

I have been following the Library of Congress's acquisition of Twitter Archive and Google's introduction to real-time search of Twitter archive.

Surprisingly almost no one talks about its social implications, especially in terms of the issue of public/private distinction. Or, when it is discussed, people simply define the private/public issue here in "traditional" ways---access, identity, and content--- without taking into account the changing new media environment.

After you guys learned about this issue in this class, I hope you guys think about this issue differently.Remember, the "context"--both appropriateness and flow of information is important, and the "context" is getting messed up in new technologies including Twitter. Will be fun to observe how people "appropriate" their behavior.
